Firstly, thank you for your assistance. 

I have determined that my Macbook Pro does have a 32 bit CPU.

It is a Intel Core Duo Processor.  I hope this helps you with a possible solution for Linphone to run.

Hi,

it looks like you are trying to run a 64 bit application on a 32 bit CPU. Could you tell what CPU you have on your Mac Book Pro?
