[Linphone-users] External interaction with linphonec 2.1.1

Hi All, first post here :)

I'm currently running the Debian Lenny version of linphone (2.1.1) but to 
compile a newer version would not be a problem.

Question: is it possible to control (dial a number, terminate) linphonec from 
an external api ?
Something like a socket or a pipe.
