I don't quite follow you here. The gspca driver was includes in the
kernel source tree as of kernel version 2.6.27, IIRC. So the version
of what is it you are talking about?

Some features was not included in the kernel driver but were moved to
the compatibility library (v4l1compat.so).

Bent
