[Linphone-users] A linphone-based videophone

I recently downloaded another Linux open source project, plutohome.org

In addition to a media server & home automation box it does video conferencing 
and telephony, and incorporates Linphone.  But I asked around and it seems they 
deviated substantially from the linphone codebase to get the video phone stuff 
to work (it still does audio), and now they can no longer stay current with 
linphone's fixes (or so they said).  Since they publish all the code is there a 
reason linphone didn't merge in the videophone fixes?  It seems like a nice 
thing for linphone too.
