Thanks Simon, I eventually found libosip version 0.9.7 and got it
working locally a couple of weeks ago.

If you know of some kind of a virtual private network implementation
which doesn't use ipsec, and which will allow us to run linphone
through our IPCop firewalls (one of the firewalls is connected via
a Wanadoo DSL in France) then I'd be interested to hear about it.
