Hi,

Any news on this ?
I built 3.10.2 and 3.11 and still have the issue.
It's quite annoying from a user point of view and it really looks like a bad
behaviour from Linphone.
I'm using MATE 1.12.1 as the DE for information (MATE released shipped with
Ubuntu 16.04 LTS)

Objet: [Linphone-developers] Linphone freezing desktop randomly

Hi,

We're building a thin client environment for our users based on Ubuntu 16.04 +
MATE Desktop + X2Go server.
This is working really well and we're using Linphone as our SIP phone.

This project is in a test phase for weeks now and it is most lickely to be
validated except that I still encounter a blocker with a random bug apparently
related to Linphone.

Let me explain in details what is happening ...

At first, I used Linphone 3.6.1 which is shipped with Ubuntu 16.04.
I had no freezes with this release but I had half cut communications sometimes
(the caller don't ear anything while the called can ear) or cut while
transferring a call.
I decided to upgrade to Linphone 3.9.1 with the Linphone PPA
(ppa:linphone/release) and it fixed my communication problems just like miracle
but ... I now have freezes of the whole desktop randomly.

On a per user basis, I have a file called .xsession-x2go-server-errors which
contains every X related problems.
I get many messages like those :

==================================================================================================

Avertissement du gestionnaire de fenêtres : Buggy client sent a
_NET_ACTIVE_WINDOW message with a timestamp of 0 for 0x160004c (Linphone)
Avertissement du gestionnaire de fenêtres : meta_window_activate called by a
pager with a 0 timestamp; the pager needs to be fixed.
==================================================================================================

When the problem occurs, every applications are frozen, Linphone becomes grey
and only the mouse is moving ... most of the times, my users only needs to wait
a few seconds (sometimes 2-3mn) and it gets back to normal.
Sometimes, this is not the case and you have to kill the session.

Any fix would be greatly appreciated !

Walid Moghrabi
