I'm having some trouble setting up Linphonec on a particular machine. Linphone can seem to play wav files just fine (the ring at the start of a call is perfect), the microphone sounds perfect, however when the call is connected and switches to 8000hz sound becomes really choppy. It is still understandable but really really bad quality. I have the same dev_id both for the ringer device and the playback device.
Recording the call to a wav and playing it back with aplay sounds perfect.
On this machine I have ALSA only. I have made a test using the PjSua client and it works fine, so I believe something in the configuration of Linphonec must be wrong when sending the audio to ALSA.
