Hi,
you shall also download updated version of oRTP, linphone(git clone git://git.linphone.org/linphone.git --recursive) and belle-sip(git clone git://git.linphone.org/belle-sip.git), compile and install belle-sip first.

Hallo,

Thank you very much for including PulseAudio device selection!
This is going to be a very helpful feature!

Just did an
git clone git://git.linphone.org/mediastreamer2.git
but unfortunately it doesn't compile. I get a few errors like this:

voip/audiostream.c: In function 'audio_stream_start_from_io':
voip/audiostream.c:820:3: error: implicit declaration of function 'rtp_session_set_send_telephone_event_payload_type' [-Werror=implicit-function-declaration]
   rtp_session_set_send_telephone_event_payload_type(rtps, tev_pt);
   ^

For testing I downloaded the old mediastreamer-2.11.2.tar.gz, this one
compiles just fine.
I guess I'm missing some of the devel packages for some libraries needed
for the new one in my setup. I'll investigate this at the weekend, when
I have bit more time.

with kind regards,

Juergen

Hi Juergen,
pulseaudio device selection within linphone is now available.
Get the last source version of mediastreamer2 on the linphone git depot
and it shall be ok.

Hallo everyone,

in Linphone for Linux it is impossible to select different PulseAudio
devices as Ring and Playback device:
The only option available for PulseAudio devices is
"PulseAudio: default"
in the Multimedia dialog of Linphone.
If I select this for Ring and Playback device, and then choose a device
via pavucontrol, it affects both, Ring and Playback device.
But I can not have 2 different devices.

I have a headset connected via an USB sound adapter, and I need this
headset as Playback device, and the internal sound card as Ring device,
both using PulseAudio, not ALSA.

Other Linux programs like "Ekiga" or "VLC" have options to select the
different PulseAudio devices directly. There is no need to use tools
like pavucontrol.
For example, in Ekiga one can choose one PulseAudio device for ringing
and a different PulseAudio device for playback.

This would be a very practical feature in Linphone.
This way it would be easy possible to have different devices for
playback and ringing in Linphone using PulseAudio only.

with kind regards,

Juergen Heinrich
