My mistake, the problem with linphone is that it separates those contacts that are on the simcard from those that are on the phone, so I didn't find the names where i expected them to be

It seems like linphone is only displaying the contacts on the device, not
the ones on the sim card, is this something that is easy to fix in
code?(for android)

On my phone SGSII (GT-I9100 using an alternative firmware, android 4.0.3)
the contacts from SIP are shown.
