They are not very helpful on the newsgroup, unfortunately.
I would suggest trying to do it on ubuntu. There I can tell you what worked for me.

Hi,

I'm trying to compile linphone with debug symbols under windows using
mingw/msys.

I run

# export CFLAGS='-g -O0 -DDEBUG'
# ./configure
# make

and linphone compiles and link but gdb still says that linphone does not
have debug symbols ...

any ideas?
