Problem is the grace notes are printed in the next bar, which is wrong.

Using \afterGrace is even worse, seems  broken.

Any help would be appreciated. Of course I could make barlines invisible and insert them manually but that's one step up from fixing the score with whiteout and a pencil.

I think the attached might work. The \afterGrace command needs to come before the note the grace notes are attached to, then the grace notes come after. See
