In measure 2, how to align the c4. with the e2.
In measure 3, why does "\mergeDifferentlyDottedOn" not apply to the g8 and the 
g4?

For the doubled b (the first notes) you’ll want 

\once \override NoteColumn.force-hshift = #1

before the b in voice 2
