The error is thrown from simple-spacer.cc
It's commented with
          /*
            Paranoia check.
          */

So mmh, probably a rounding issue soemwhere?
But I'm guessing ...

This error never occured on my Linux-system, so I can't reproduce it.

Did you try to insert manual \break ?
Ofcourse another wild guess...
