Hi Mario,

Lilypond is fantastic, but maybe not the most advanced authentic style lute tab environment. Although not an answer to your direct question, have you looked at Beier Tab? It supports Italian lute tab, and makes very elegant period looking tab output, and very clean to read, and lots of ornament support and so on. It has more extensive coverage of the whole style than lilypond (happy to be corrected!).
