Thanks to both of you, David and Torsten, for the explanations. I almost 
bet there was such a reason, that’s why I didn’t post to the bug list 
directly ;)

Maybe this change (from 2.18.2 to 2.20.0) should be documented at 
http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.19/Documentation/changes/ ?
