Indeed.
Even below doesn't work:
guile> "⁹"
"�\x81�"
Though, I found a very crude way to do so, requring guilev2 is on your
system. In my case it's in a selfcompiled repository.
guile> (system "guile/meta/./guile -c '(write \"⁹\")'")
"⁹"0
I can't recommend, though. More for a cabinet of curiosities...
