Hello Thorsten,

I do this with PhotoScore Ultimate (either scanning or reading a PDF file), 
fixing what needs to be for the score to be correct in terms of bars contents, 
and then export to MusicXML.

The resulting file is then translated to LP with musicxml2ly.

Have compared that with Finale’s own tool, no way : PhotoScore is clearly much 
better, and well worth its price.
