Hi John,

Which version of LilyPond are you trying to install?
AFAIK this issue is fixed since version 2.15.9, so if you are using a
stable version, maybe try latest development version.

Maybe it is worth asking Carl to cherry-pick this for the next stable
release.  There is a patch attached to comment #5.
