When reading the various contiguous Scheme examples, I saw there were
mixed styles for spacing, I only noticed an aesthetic problem here.

That's because you have never had to teach the alternative syntax to
absolutely non programmers. Anyway, it could be my fault, and it could
not to worth the effort.
