No, this is a bug, but there is a workaround. Create a Macro with the 
content:
runCommandInConsole(view, "LilyPond", 
"\""+jEdit.getProperty("options.lilytool.lilypond-executable")+"\" 
\""+buffer.getPath()+"\"");

Assign a shortcut for it, and that would work.
