In association with this patch, I've created a pull request for GUB.
https://github.com/gperciva/gub/pull/30

It updates GUB's Ghostscript from 9.15 to 9.20.
gs-9.20 are fixed several font handling bugs and PDF destination name bug etc.

It also includes GCC updates from 4.9.2 to 4.9.4
because GCC 4.9.2 cannot compile some packages in my environment.

Unfortunately, Ghostscript 9.20 for freebsd-x86 raises seg fault.
So for freebsd-x86, Ghostscript 9.15 is used.

Note:
Even if you use Ghostscript 9.20, it does not install new URW 35 fonts for Fontconfig.
Without Fontconfig settings, you cannot use Greek and Cyrillic glyphs as default fonts.

Additionally, I think that LilyPond may include some URW fonts for convenient.
In this way, LilyPond includes both TeX Gyre fonts (as main fonts, for Latin glyphs) and
URW fonts (for Greek and Cyrillic glyphs).
So you can use Greek and Cyrillic glyphs as default fonts without settings.
However, distribution binary size increases.

Add Greek and Cyrillic glyph aliases

LilyPond default fonts (TeX Gyre) do not have Greek and Cyrillic glyphs.
New URW 35 fonts which are contained in Ghostscript 9.20 have them.

This commit makes that when you have the new URW fonts,
you can use their Greek and Cyrillic glyphs as default fonts.
