New issue 4566 by address@hidden: Finale's XMLs and musicxml2ly in Frescobaldi
https://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=4566

Dear all,

I have a problem converting Finale generated xml files to ly format in Frescobaldi.

I don't think that the problem comes from Frescobaldi, I tested some xml files on the web and the conversion went normally. I even imported the same xml in Finale to .mus format, generated another xml from it re-converted it to .ly in Frescobaldy and it worked.

The problem, is when I export original .mus files to .xml and try to convert them to .ly in Frescobaldy I get this error message :

"Traceback (most recent call last):

    self.runImport()

    stdout, stderr = dlg.run_command()
File "C:\Program Files (x86)\Frescobaldi\frescobaldi_app\file_import\toly_dialog.py", line 173, in run_command
    stderr = subprocess.PIPE)
  File "c:\Python27\lib\subprocess.py", line 672, in __init__
  File "c:\Python27\lib\subprocess.py", line 882, in _execute_child
UnicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' codec can't encode character u'\xe9' in position 217: ordinal not in range(128)"

Can anyone explain me why this happens and how I can solve this problem ?

Thank you.
