Could you post the error message, if any, under Fedora 22 from the code at  
the top?

Also, I forgot about the report of crashing with a point stencil. What is  
the simplest code using a point-stencil that crashes on Fedora 22, and with  
what error message?

Having the example helps guess the path to crashing on one system by  
tracing on another.  It is awkward to change the suspected assert to a  
non-fatal error because it is in a header file interval.hh:226, so I'll  
probably change or remove the asserted condition.
