The blue and yellow outlines show what shapes LilyPond uses for horizontal
spacing, when she is considering all the music conceptually as one very
long line.
So these outline shapes are drawn for the columns of the score assuming a
safe distance between staves. Showing them as originally considered for
horizontal spacing might help understand bugs. (it helped a bit to figure
out issue 2058)
Or, we could re-draw the separation-item stencils after page-spacing, if
there is reason to do so.
