https://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=461I suspect that the ultimate fix would create "CurvedTie" grobs that would essentially be slurs but have different attachment points, different curvature and possibly some other differences. Those would be created rather than a Tie whenever start and end staff (?) differed or when vertical positions would be non-identical (clef change) or pitch would be different (enharmonic change).
