Oh nonsense. \keepWithTag #'(fromgroupI fromgroupII) is of course exactly equivalent to \keepWithTag #'(fromgroupI) \keepwithTag #'(fromgroupII). That's pretty much the whole point of tag groups.
So warning about multiple tag groups addressed in a single command is still an option. However, the regtest actually demonstrates usage that seems pretty natural and convenient.
