Belay that: I've just run make doc and get an error with that snippet.  The  
error is:

Renaming input to: `line-breaking-rehearsal-mark.ly'
warning: cannot find property type-check for `left-label' (music-type?).   
perhaps a typing error?

but as you say, the error doesn't occur with a simple lilypond compile.   
Anyone know what's going on?
