http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=3631They are diffs that allow you to do pretty prints to the command line to see the values I'm talking about - print.diff can be applied to current master whereas print_old.diff can be applied before 74e4d219b24ec6d6f28d663c0285418e6c8e122e.
I did some more digging. It seems that one big problem is that in Axis_group_interface::adjacent_pure_heights, the treble clef is almost never taken into account in begin_line_heights, whereas in 2.14 it was always there. I will try to figure out why this omission of the treble clef happens tomorrow.
