"The GHB or Great Highland Bagpipe, is tuned in A mixolydian, often  
considerably higher than the standard pitch, up towards A = 480 Hz. The  
manual [1], "Bagpipes", 2.6.2, calls it D major, and omits the "Great" in  
the name of the bagpipe. Cf. [2], and net-searches on "GHB mixolydian".

I believe NR 2.6.2 (and bagpipe.ly) refer specifically to the GHB; others  
in the family can have greater ranges and different tunings, so this should  
perhaps also be clarified in the NR.
