Well, to be fair

 beam-gap (pair of numbers)

    Size of a gap in a Beam.

does not cross the threshold to being useful information.  It would appear  
that the documentation string and property name did not change along with  
the semantics making this a pair instead of a plain number.  It's  
impossible from either to guess what the respective elements of the pair  
mean.

At any rate, looks like this would be mooted by issue 3115 any minute now  
(formally, it has passed countdown).

The original issue approached by the problematic commit was issue 704, by  
the way.
