Comment #1 on issue 3027 by address@hidden: Changing document fonts with non-standard global font size leads to scaling errors
http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=3027

Until this is addressed systematically, the following change can be made to the documentation:

In NR 1.8.3 Fonts under the graphic in the section "Entire Document Fonts", please add the following

Note that if the global staff size (see 4.2.2 Setting the staff size) is set to a value other than the default (20) then the value assigned to myStaffSize must also be set to this same value (e.g., if #(set-global-staff-size 14) is used to set the staff size in the score, then font definition must also state “myStaffSize = #14”). However, (/ myStaffSize 20) must not be altered. If the values of the global staff size and myStaffSize differ, issues with improper font scaling may occur.

In addition, in section 4.2.2, the line “This sets the global default size to 14pt staff height and scales all fonts accordingly.” is not true when fonts have been manually set and should be revised as follows:

This sets the global default size to 14pt staff height and scales all fonts accordingly. (Note that font scaling may not work as expected when document fonts have been changed from the default. Please see 1.8.3 Fonts for more information on issues with staff sizes and non-default fonts.)
