I've just tried an LSR update with makelsr, which runs lily with the -dsafe  
option.  It failed on pretty much every snippet.  Git bisect names commit  
44240869b4d78df01ce4751fe7aae4b8d4e9d947 as the guilty party.  This came  
from Issue 2859.
