Damian leGassick reports a problem with -dbackend=eps where beams are  
cropped, see

this behavior also occurs in many other situations with -dpreview, namely  
when beams, slurs, phrasing slurs, dynamic spanners (and maybe others, but  
not text scripts) extend above or below the "natural" vertical dimension of  
a staffGroup (which I assume is determined by the normal stem length).

the problem exists only with \autoChange.

note: this bug also impacts
