http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=2798Automatic beams are notorious for not playing nicely with any spanners that need to grab a bound off of them as their beginning and end points are fixed later in the game than other grobs.
Would it be possible to document this as a known issue? I know it is annoying, but I don't like the idea of writing a bunch of exception code for automatic beams. In the future, it'd be great if the Auto_beam_engraver were rewritten as a scheme function on a music stream that automatically inserted beam events so that beams could be issued at their native timestamp.
