All those extra error messages only appear in Grenouille, right?  So how  
about we have a regular Patchy test on this one to make sure that this fix  
isn't worse than the disease.

BTW, I happened to notice that
  input/regression/metronome-mark-loose-column.log
  input/regression/palm-mute.log
adds *new* programming errors with this patch.  On Grenouille, at least.
