Comment #2 on issue 2740 by address@hidden: Lilypond doesn't break lines

Please reconsider your attitude. You open a barrage of reports across which you distribute the information, apparently expecting people to hunt through all of them. You refuse to use the regular channels for reporting bugs, you ignore the explanations about why your "bug" is documented and expected behavior, and you claim that it is the duty of LilyPond developers ("you are the ones who should be interested in bugs, no matter in which way they are submitted.") to waste their time on your antics.

If you take a look at the volume of bug reports that get handled by the LilyPond developers and the supporting teams, you'll find that a lot of high quality work is being done, for free. Doing that amount of work requires organization. Our bug squad actually does a rather good job of streamlining bug reports reported to the lists, as explained in documentation and in the issue report form in the tracker as well, thus saving the occasional bug reporter from having to learn the procedures.

That takes time and effort, but you are welcome to make use of this service provided by volunteers. But that is not what you do here. You decide to take control and misuse the mechanisms, ignoring all instructions. And you do this repeatedly and ignore the feedback given to you, both concerning your problem itself as well as the ways we established for dealing efficiently with problems.

With commercial products, there is often a layer of technically unskilled support personnel paid for dealing politely with this kind of users.

This is not the situation here. There is no real compensation for the kind of dissatisfaction this disregard for the work of others causes, and it is one of the most frequent causes of developers stopping to work on a project.

So please consider the consequences of your actions, and don't regard the time and feelings of others working on the project as less important than that of yourself.

Thank you.
