That particular wording of the warning was introduced on 27 Nov 2009 when 2.13.8 was current - and it was wrong even then - I've just reinstalled 2.13.8 and it colours all three ties. The previous wording talked about modifing the /control points/ of ties in a chord - only the first tie can be modified. That looks more sensible, maybe we should restore the original words?
