Thanks for the fix, which is obviously correct but makes
test-async-sig fail on Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS with "gcc (Ubuntu
4.4.3-4ubuntu5.1) 4.4.3" in 64-bit mode.

The same test passes (after the fix) when using "gcc (GCC) 4.8.0
20120331 (experimental)", so I think it's just a gcc-4.4.3 bug being
exposed.
