Well, that means you cannot use it with shared libraries at all. In
that case, the simplest way for you would be to
./configure --disable-shared CC=gcc
make CCLD='purify gcc'
so that purify is only actually used while linking. If the code uses
C++ as well, you also need to override CXXLD etc.
