I know... Its a language-interoperability tool called "Babel.

Our regression suite is a real worst-case scenario for build tools.
Matlab and Ruby loom on our horizon as well.

Well, certainly we use automake too.  Strictly speaking, we don't apply
libtool to Java or Python.  But we have used it for Fortran 90.
Its possible that someone else on my team cut-n-pasted the F77 code
to hack up FC support.  (In fact, that's what I did over the weekend
as a stop-gap.  It's... tolerable but unsatisfying.)

So there's no libtool maintainer support for F90?
How disappointing!
