For the most part I tried to cover Darwin/FreeBSD/NetBSD with the changes I had made.

Either of FreeBSD or NetBSD will be fine.  For the most part the diffs are small between them that both can be supported.

Could you resend those patches, so we can check?

I do want to have Liberty Eiffel compiling flawlessly on a BSD system.

Which version of BSD shall we target first? FreeBSD?

I use NetBSD so I'm partial to that :)
I'd be happy to test on NetBSD, Linux and macOS.
