This is odd only in that work recently done has been to overhaul CD-Text I thought to handle more cases. I have also heard people reporting that CD-Text was broken in I think 0.83. 

Is it possible to compile the current sources https://savannah.gnu.org/git/?group=libcdio to verify if this is currently broken in git?

With libcdio shipped with it, cd-info (cd-info version 0.84git
x86_64-suse-linux-gnu) fails to read cdtext from the cd whereas it was
reading it before (0.82).

Other programs are reading cdtext from the cd correctly (e.g. k3b).

Please help. What information can i provide for you to look into the matter?
