Andrea,

I suggest using the Windows Installer package put together by Rob Weir. His
site is at http://koha.rwjr.com/. The current Koha v2.2.3 Stable Release for
Windows is posted there and there is some documentation.

I have yet to get the install.pl script to work with windows and I've tried
several times, hacking the thing to death. I even installed cygwin to
provide a unix-like environment but there are too many incompatibilities.

You could also try unzipping the tar ball, manually moving folders into
place and editing the config files, and running the updatedatabase script
(which does work in windows, usually) but you have to know what you're
doing.

Subject: [Koha-win32] Installation on Windows

So far I've got perl (activeperl 5.8.7...) and apache
(2.054...) running, and at the correct locations.
Mysql (4.018) I'm pretty sure is good too- the icon is
in my tray, but I cannot seem to install Koha itself.
I extract it and try to run install.pl and I get a
flash of error message saying something like 'Use of
uninitialized value in concatenation... 'but it's too
quick for me to read.
Nothing else happens. When I go to 'opac' in my
browser I just a generic message from apache (the
'hosts' file reads fine).

Should I have done something else? The instructions on
the koha website don't say much beyond this; are they
out of date? There are more instructions in files
called hints and 'install' in the koha folder itself
but I don't understand them, or which order they are
meant to be followed. If someone has a step by step
quide could they send it to me please? Or, as you can
see I'm not so teccy, can anyone advise me gently?

Thanks,

A
