Hi
I notice in the interface that the term "issue" is used in at least three different contexts: 1) in circulation (i.e. to lend) 2) in journals as part of a host publication 3) in administrivia (i.e. a problem or question)Perhaps this is more suited as a bug report, but would it be possible to pick non-homonymic words for these three concepts?
Hmm - it does make it more difficult for translation I assume? But from our perspective at least, "Issues" is actually what the librarians refer to those activities as.
I would expect you to translate that into 2 or 3 different words as appropriate for your audience - but for our audience at least "issues" marries what you see in their library - they have the words "Issues Desk" for example over the issues desk.
I agree that for a problem or question "issue" isn't a necessary word - there are several others that would do, but I can't see that changing 1 & 3 would make our users lives any easier.
Cheers Rachel
For example, could we say 'lend' or 'loan' for #1, and 'problem', 'question', 'incident', or similar for #3 For #2 the only alternative would be 'number', but that's not an option. -Lars ---------------------------------------------------------------- This mail sent through L-secure: http://www.l-secure.net/ ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Tell us your software development plans!
