So the only thing i could export with export.gz is my RingID right now?
no, You save your keys: private and public (the last one is your ring Id).
Could i save my data manually somehow?
yes, you can save all your account(s) on linux by copying thoses directories :
./config/ring
./local/share/ring
you can also save the conversations and contacts recorded in the client :
./local/share/gnome-ring
you can do a tarball from your home directory :
tar cvf save-my-ring.tar.gz .config/ring/ .local/share/ring/
.local/share/gnome-ring/

sry, I was too fast. I wanted to write conversations, contacts, profiles are
not (yet) synchronized. I understand that's not userfriendly. We thinking to
improve the synchronisation.

does that mean, that if i have an GNOME account and want to put i on my Android as
well, i will have no contacts and no profile (name & photo & settings) from the
start?

I just noticed you are using an exported account. We do not save the
conversations and the profile inside the export.gz. We do only save the account
information.

Hi Nicolas,
for me it seems to be a huge bug. It's not just about loosing my photo - that i
definitely saved before. My issue is about loosing all my
contactsconversations, my display name and my setting as well. Happens on
latest Ring from repos on Fedora 27 after importing the export.gz from my old
system and typing in my correct password.
p.s. Could you please convert your video to an open file format and attach it
again?

Hi,
obviously ring don't find your photo. It could be a bug or you didn't save any. You can try to
click on the camera below the "?". Ring will opens a widget to capture a photo. When done
save it. Ring should then using it as your photo instead of the "?".
you can see a short video in attachment. If you did everything like I did in
the video, then you find a bug.
we are currently working to improve the profile management. We planned to have
one profile per account by the end of this year.
cheers,

Was this partially fixed with "Ring Version 1.0 built on 2017-11-29
17:15:19 UTC"?
Contact are showing, but display photo is a question mark, i.e. ?
Please see image below:

Hej there, i am on Fedora 27 and just installed Ring again from the
fresh repository. I select "add new device" and then the import file

are gone, the settings and my display name and photo as well. Any idea
how to solve that?
Cheers and have a beautiful day!
