This is to announce the first release of GSRC, the GNU Source Release
Collection.  GSRC provides a simple way to install the latest versions
of GNU packages from source.

GSRC uses GAR to download and install supported packages automatically
(via make), along with their dependencies.  Packages are installed to
a separate directory tree and do not affect your existing distribution.

The aim is to make it easier to work with sources, to help development
and bug reporting, not to be an installable distro.

The current collection of packages is available as a tar file:

Alternatively the latest versions can be checked out and updated
from Savannah using bzr:
