It's probably a terminal-type mismatch.  You need to ensure that the terminal that your telnet session is emulating is the same as that set at the UNIX end.  Emacs seems to make more subtle use of terminal capabilities than most other programs, so it shows up small errors.  You might be better off running an X server on your PC and then running Emacs as an X client.

I have some display problems when connecting to a remote Unix machine using telnet from a Windows PC, and running emacs. Emacs displays erroneously the lines and all the text is messed up. Any hint? Thank you.
