Interesting. So it appears that the only "bad" thing that would
happen with the 'cvs admin -b' trick is that vendor updates are not
automatically merged. But that's fine, I prefer to do it by hand
anyway.
Unfortunately I cannot update to feature releases of CVS. I've gone
into this at length with Jim Hyslop off-list, but the gist of it is
that I work for a stodgy old large defense contractor with overly
restrictive software policies.
