WinCVS user problem

[TryCVS]

I am using WinCVS 2 on windows 2003 server. I managed to get it running
and setup the CVSROOT, I can checkout, commint and stuff on the server.

I now want to connect to the server (on the same network) using pserver
or any simple mechanism. Security and other issues are not a concern. I
just want to be able to connect to the server and apply changes.

I get this message when i try to connect
Fatal error, aborting.
cvs [init aborted]: : no such user

1) I have a passwd file with username:password(in crypt)
2) I edited the config file and said SystemAuth no (it was yes).

>From the remote machine (winxp with CVS running) I enter
cvs -d
:pserver;username=admin;password=admin;hostname=10.0.1.102:/cvs/dev
init
and i still get this error:
Fatal error, aborting.
cvs [init aborted]: : no such user
