The contents are automatically generated for the manual from the texinfo source.
So as texinfo processes the source, it keeps track that Chapter 1
"Overview" is on page 1,
Chapter 2, "The Repository" is on page 7 etc etc. It then prints out
all this information
at the end. Doing things at the end allows the file to be processed in
less number
of passes.
